Now it's really the eaves!

OMG! Just found out that I made a blunder.  It was the gutter I saw before and not the eaves. hehehhe.. We went past the site this morning and the carpenter just told me: "I just put your eaves for you" and I was like.. ooo.. ooohhhh.. that's the eaves hehehhe...  anyway, they are working on the internal linings now.... I wonder what the next stage will be after this?

Sydney Water Bill?

OK, thanks to our next door neighbour Craig (http://www.sandrineandcraig.com/) for pointing out that it's actually for sewerage and river management fees!  =))

****

Surprisingly, we've received a water bill... not for our current house.. but for the one we're building! Hmmmm.. We built our current home less than 4 years ago but never receive a single bill for water at all.  I raised it with EB and was told that this forms part of our construction costs.

Has anyone experienced the same with EB or with the other builders too?  Is this the pratice these days?

Finally, an update and a news!

It's been a while since I last signed on to my blog, not that I was too lazy to do so but I've been too sick for months (actually I'm still too sick but didn't want to leave the blogging too far behind).  The sickness I have is actually not contagious nor terminal (hmmmm, well if I didn't go for an intravenous hydration then it could be).  Anyway, we're expecting our second child and I'm having a difficult battle with "all day sickness", ended up in a hospital bed for dehydration!  I'm just hoping that the sickness will end soon so I can start enjoying the pregnancy and the home building.

Back to building our home, our frames were completed on 10 Sept and I thought it was going all A-OK!  We drove past our site several times and kept on visiting the site hoping that we'll see something.  Rang our SS and was told that bricking will start straight after the labour day long weekend.  We did go to our site expecting to see some bricking action going on but got disappointment for the nth time.  Brick laying started 1 month and almost 2 weeks after which is very very disappointing.  Anyway, my husband had a chat with the SS and finally bricking started afternoon of that very same day.  I just hope that this delay won't have a domino effect on the next building stages.  Since drama is over, I think I can now post the recent photos of our home... :)

Frames Up!

It didn't take long for those tradies to complete the frames.. well done!!  Not sure if it's officially "complete" but from what I saw it looks complete to me.. lol..  Now, it's just a matter of days till I receive the next invoice, then I can say it's officially done.. :D

yay! it actually feels good seeing eden brae's logo on our site fence..  them being one of the best builders in town lol :D
oh no! my little girl will not be happy when she finds out we can't go inside the site anymore.. she likes running and hopping on the slab... :)

yey!! frames complete! (on another note the frames on the side of our house are sandrine and craigs he he yep, we're next door neighbours alright!)

The Frames

Finally, after a very busy week (of preparation and the actual party celebrating my baby's 2nd birthday - Happy Birthday my dearest Alana!) I now have time to upload the frames' photos!

Frames delivered some time last week, well, we got in trouble with the neighbour for these frames being delivered at 5:30am!  Yeah, we understand the disappointment.  I had to walk Lana away from my husband and the angry neighbour who was cursing and having a go at us - I didn't want my daughter hear any swearing that's all, and I didn't want her to see anyone shouting at either of us, her parents so as she won't lose respect for any of us.  Anyway, neighbour's point taken (even though it was not our fault that trucks came in that early) and advised our site supervisor about this to avoid this thing from happening again!

Went the following day and saw this...

...the next day it was this..

I wonder why it doesn't look as big as the display home?  We're pretty sure we signed up for exactly the same as the one on display except for the third garage.  We picked high ceilings for both ground and first floor, however it still look lower than the one on display.  The front door's height is lower than the one on display too... Or maybe it is too early to say given that we just have the frames??  lol
